About Us

Registered Manager

Richard Wootton is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as the manager of Cloud Homecare.

Richard and his wife Liz set up Cloud Homecare in 2012 and Richard assumed the appointment of registered manager in 2018.

As well as ensuring compliance with various Health and Social Care regulations, and ensuring the service we provide meets the CQC's requirements as a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led provider of domiciliary social care, Richard carries out a range of other business management functions.  

Richard does not carry out front line caring but supervises a small management team who ensure that staff are supported in their work and clients have a point of contact to call if necessary.

Richard's previous career was in the British Army.  Initially intending to serve for a 3 year short-service commission, he enjoyed it so much that he stayed for 23 years.

In his spare time, Richard likes to: support his wife's more expert gardening; play the piano (quite badly!), and ride his newly acquired electric bike.


Care Staff

All our care workers are subject to a rigourous selection process that includes interviews, enhanced Disclosbure and Barring Service checks (this includes checks with police records etc) and references.

Staff are then given training in specific subjects such as:
